Commerce Queensland's Policy department is responsible for developing policies and submissions, representing members and undertaking research, with a goal of positively influencing government policies, programs and legislation.
Henry Review of Taxes
Australia's Future Tax System Review Panel has invited submissions from interested stakeholders on improving Australia's tax system. The closing date for submissions is Friday 17 October 2008.
Commerce Queensland has prepared a draft submission to this process and is seeking comments from interested parties. Comments can be addressed to Paul Bidwell at pbidwell@commerceqld.com.au by Friday 10 October 2008.
Once submissions have been received, the Review Panel will consider requests and will initiate meetings with major representative organisations for further discussions on tax policy review priorities.
Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) Overview
